Does my scalp hates shampoo (now)?

I learned from the long hair community how shampoo strips scalp of natural oils, so sebaceous glands in my scalp produce more oils in order to keep hair naturally moisturised. Yes, scalp oils are actually a natural conditioner... Anyway people fuss on greasy hair like it's not natural or something. My hair loves to get greasy and I love how my scalp relaxes after 4th day(!) of not shampooing. Last time I shampooed was in summer, probably mid-July. What was on my mind 3 days ago?! I shampooed again. Why?! I don't know. I thought my hair needs a cleansing because I keep my hair too much in a beanie. Silly me I thought I should get rid of oily hair and have smooth hair instead... not. Today is the 3rd day after washing and my scalp still produces oils like crazy and my ends are so fine, dry and fluffy I mostly finger combed my hair to not risk breakage. Although my hair doesn't feel greasy,  it definitely looks greasy. I tried to massage my scalp, to get rid of some sebum...

My go-to bun for sleep (the elling woman bun)

Image
My hair is very long. There, where the hair is so long to reach beyond your buttocks. It's called classic length. So I definitely don't sleep with my hair loose, otherwise I'd wake up with a mass of tangles. I'm also past the length where a braid was enough. I can't sleep in a single position all night long or drag the tailbone length braid from under my back. If I let my tailbone length braid I'd end up with massive breakage in the morning. So I have to protect my ends somehow. So far the elling woman bun is perfect for sleep. It keeps the tassel of my braid pretty much inside the bun. Shampoo makes my hair greasy, conditioner doesn't  Next morning my updo loosened a bit but my braid tassel is still protected inside the bun  Start with a French or Dutch braid. An English or a side braid won't hold your ends inside the bun unless you pin it, which is damaging. Tie your braid (optional) Now pick a loop of the braid, but a loop closer t...

Sleeping diaries - series

Chapter 1 Epileptic cat "Kitty!" I called my cat while I put the rest of the canned meat in her bowl. "Kitty!" I called again. Normally my cat was in the kitchen purring on the table while I struggled to open "her" can. How can a cat not hear or smell even if she has to poop? I opened the bathroom door. The lights were off. This has never happened before . There are no windows in my bathroom but it still looks familiar. I turned on the light. " Kitty! " My voice was lowered to a whisper. I knelt beside her and touched her jet black fur. Her body was stiff. I cradled her in my arms, planning to call my parents or my friend Julia who might know a vet. Suddenly I felt her muscles cramping, her heart beating faster her breath harsh. I hold her while she kneaded me repeatedly, then she turned back to her stiff position. My arms were bleeding. I knew by then my cat was epileptic. I put Kitty down, then called Julia. Why couldn't I...

Can I train my mind and body to hate meat? GROSS PICTURES ALLERT!

We all know the thing about fridays for future . go vegan and boom! you save the planet. It may be true or not, I don't want your comments about this. But one thing is sure about not eating meat anymore: every doctor agrees you'll live healthier without meat. So how do you stop carving for meat? I asked myself this question is I joined fridays for future. If I try to stop carving for meat I tend carving for sugar more; and if I try to stop eating cookies I carve for meat. I played Pearl's Peril on facebook, level 48 - Cyprus where I saw a barbeque... in the game . Of course I had to think how much consume there was in 1930, when modernism was just fresh in the high society and how today we have to live like in the biblical times where meat was difficult to hunt and consume at a large scale. I'm going furthrer with my imagination while playing this game and I remember how much I hated when my grandma wanted to buy meat from the butchery. It's not the smell but...

Why do we deny climate change?

Image
Scientists as well as the media knew about climate change since the 50's (!), but oil companies and getting rich fast  in an unsustainable economy were further supported by politicians. Fast forward to 2018, when Greta Thunberg started "her" Fridays for future , scientists and ecologists all around the world got courage to tell the truth . The reason why we keep denying climate change is because we did nothing since the 50's and now, suddenly, all we hear and read is that we're going extinct in 30 to 100 years! (Don't forget the point-of-no-return happening in probably 30 years if we're lucky(!)) The Paris Agreement was signed just few years ago, but all went well until some kids started demanding from politicians to do something about the earth warming. Yeah! like those politicians would ever care about us; now I even have to give up eating animal produce and driving my car to work (mostly 40 km away from home) to sustain an unsustainable economy . ...

I'm giving up one of this month's projects

My job is too stressful, so I'm giving up the history project . Anyway, this project is better for students, so if you are a student or you simply have time for such a big project, go for it. I'll continue my own instead. I still look forward to create a page on blogger.com so I can share everything I do in a catalogue-like arrangement: I want to sell/giveaway on Patreon some old books nobody seems to care about anymore but it would be a shame to throw them away. I want to either sell old clothes I don't like, therefore never worn and never will or even make some diy tutorials regarding recycling of old rags/clothes. I want to let you know about my photography and where it is available. I've already blogged about my photos and shared links but there's a long search on my blog for that. Plus, my I want to share my photos for free, with CC (creative commons) so you can use them whenever you want, wherever you want. Yes, you may actually use them or a part of them...

My first contribution on wikipedia/wikimedia

Today I uploaded my first photo on wikimedia commons. I hope this link works for you because I can't log off my wikimedia account and view my profile as someone else. Anyway,  this means I'm getting more and more popular as (hobby) photographer. The bigger surprise for me came after  I finished uploading my photo. It's about challenges ! (Again,  I don't know if links from wikimedia are available for those who don't have an account or are not logged in). Challenges like GuruShots , where professional and hobby photographers alike upload their best photos to get a little insight as photographers. I'm in! I just found another site where I can get a lot of views, be motivated by challenges and good quality photos and I don't get my inbox spammed with each and every like I receive (I'm talking about Instagram, where I had the feeling they don't even check my photos! Too many likes in too short time can't be something serious right?).
