available as canvas, poster, etc.    It's a photo done with an old bridge camera, without editing whatsoever - my first "professional" take on sunset photography.

EFIT 27. September

It contains affiliates. The * marks affiliate link. I only recommend products I use myself on daily basis.   EFIT-Alarm! 👀 I love this efit  format of my blog. It's so organized. 😇 08:00 I drink more tea and less coffee. Just like I eat less meat and more veggies, just like I eat less and drink tea. I just had to write down some ideas before I start the day. Read the story on wattpad . (shopping fotos 9 u. 10 uhr, 11 foto eingekauftes, 12 post)  09:00 I started to read Pope Joan by DOnna W. Cross. It's nice, captivating book I'll review later. 10:00 I usually check out the long hair community without engaging too much into forum discussions.   11:00 my updos look pretty minimalistic when it comes to going outside. 12:00 I don't really like to photograph what I eat... 13:00 I decided to participate in a real photography exhibition so I made a money pool for that. I described the whole story in another blog entry , in hope I will gather mor...

Survive at least one month quarantined

Image
Let's make it clear from the start: it's easy for a hermit to love being alone. Unfortunatelly I read in the news or my friends post how bored people in general are because they must drink coffee at home instead in a café. Anyway, I challenged myself to blog and vlog my quarantine life for a month. Documenting my lifestyle blog 😒 Today, 15.06.2020: I sleep a lot and I am glad I discovered sleep since the corona crisis. Corona crisis hit me like " the oncoming train " and I realized I missed sleeping a lot. It also made me realize those new consumerism stuff aren't that new anymore. They recyle old themes with a horn blasting sound and dazling visual effects but there's no soul in that movie or music video; so I go back in the 70's or 80's. I actually watched any Kaurismäki film I could find on youtube (planning to order a collection of movies by Kaurismäki). I listened to old rock 'n roll songs and honestly I felt instantly better. I feel goo...

Homeopathy and remedies

Image
I got cold like almost 3 weeks ago. It happens to me every winter. Like last year , I DIY'd and I got healthy. First day was a chore: I couldn't even breathe well, let alone speak. I made something I learned from my grandmother. I googled it but I'd add: that photo is stupid. Cover your whole head under the towel! Breathe slowly and deeply. Keep your handkerchief nearby so you can grab it whenever you need to sneeze. Don't drink that tea afterwards, make a new one to drink. Just in case... I did this... breathing hot steam for 3 days in a row 2 times a day. In the meantime I drank a lot of tea. I can fairly say I drank like 2l of black (as to not drink coffee for few days) or mint tea. Of course I added either sugar and lemon or a menthol bonbon, or just simply drank the tea with anything fancy in my cup. Of course it helped that I DIY'd my spa time: hot water in the bad thub. I recommend you to tilt your head to get it warm in the water! Warming your head ...

Mohawk-like hair

Image
Elling woman bun - my sleep bun I can't pancake my braids, so a voluminous braid is impossible for me to create. Such mohawk-like braids are rare on me. I can do them on greasy hair. I like the front side a lot. It looks a bit like the edwardian poof. I just wonder why I can only do such braids on rare occasions and only with super oily hair? Is my hair too slippery to create volume - most probably Are these voluminous hairstyles created only on hair coated in dry shampoo? - 99% of tutorials out there claim so. I'm not going to use any styling product. I can make such mohawk-braids when I lay on a chair and start braiding from my crown though. Having cowlicks and flat hair may actually help if you rise it above the cowlick? I mean if you comb upside down, you actually end up with some volume (at least for a while). I just never wear such a braid because it ends in an akward position like a high ponytail. My braid seem like I started it from the crown and not from e...

I can't braid my hair!

Image
I can't count how many times I've seen this on different YouTube braiding tutorials. I was like: "so what? I can't do fishtail braided double Dutch braids either." Venting for more than 3 years on YouTube I met people who really can't braid, no matter what. I was puzzled because I have scoliosis so it should be more difficult for me to handle my classic long hair that it should be for them handling layered apl-to-waist length hair. Growing my hair longer helped me learning what rough handling is (aka ripping off trough tangles), how our body can be trained to accept natural products, how shampoo commercials lie, etc. The lower half of my hair is thin but it marks the learning process of 23 years of short hair. (Photo w/ the braid) I learned that if you can't do this or that fancy updo is ok. I focus on flat and stable braided buns instead of volume, intricate small braids that would force me to lighten my hair so you can see it. Here are my tips f...

Why do we deny climate change?

Image
Scientists as well as the media knew about climate change since the 50's (!), but oil companies and getting rich fast  in an unsustainable economy were further supported by politicians. Fast forward to 2018, when Greta Thunberg started "her" Fridays for future , scientists and ecologists all around the world got courage to tell the truth . The reason why we keep denying climate change is because we did nothing since the 50's and now, suddenly, all we hear and read is that we're going extinct in 30 to 100 years! (Don't forget the point-of-no-return happening in probably 30 years if we're lucky(!)) The Paris Agreement was signed just few years ago, but all went well until some kids started demanding from politicians to do something about the earth warming. Yeah! like those politicians would ever care about us; now I even have to give up eating animal produce and driving my car to work (mostly 40 km away from home) to sustain an unsustainable economy . ...

I created a short video to show you how to do a water reserve for plants. This system works on both potted and garden plants. Read the video description to find out more.

We need our nature back

Image
It was never so bad as this year (yes, 2019). My neighbors began cutting down trees and hedges all over the area. Since 4 years ago, since I live here I saw yet another tree gone, yet another hedge replaced with wood fences. I mean what's the idea behind it? Why cutting trees to create wood fences? Just because they don't want to sweep the fallen leaves once a year probably? courtesy of web.de The areas where I live and work have become empty without those magestic trees and bushes . These trees still exist, thank God. Unfortunatelly I am not allowed to show you much of my area, because it's private area... you know... Of course people actually complained about the fact that they should leave nature alone. Many of those comments don't even have anything to do with the article. Insert German lesson of the day: meckern (complaining). Honestly I am prepared not to hear any more electric saw in summer. Have a nice day and let me know if you think this ...

Welcome to my humble second EFIT ! 😊 7:30 I like to up do my sleep braid in winter. It's easy to braid your hair for sleep at night and wrap it in a bun in the morning; a job in a matter of seconds, really. Helpful when you are still sleepy to fuss on your hair in the morning. 8:30 This was the second snow though. But it lasted for few hours this time. 09:30 It was really cold though, I am glad I have good winter clothes. It was definitely -1C but then I couldn't make these photos without snow and cold. 10:30 It wasn't much snow on the streets, maybe just 1 cm thick; there will never be such thick snow as in Bavaria (at least I hope so) 😃😨😳 11:30 I played with zoom like crazy. buy original https://www.pixoto.com/images-photography/nature-up-close/other-plants/dead-chestnuts-5755164695461888 12:30 I was going back home when I saw birds on a tree nearby. I tested my camera for the first time with these models... er... birds....
